Don't Get Scammed, Get Scanned!

Recently you were scanned and received a color to give you a gauge of how healthy you are on a cellular level.  Your results offer information that can lead you to the next step in your health journey.  I pray for extraordinary health for you this year and for a lifetime!  Just 6 years ago I remember having a conversation with someone saying, "We grew up on this kind of food.  We are fine, our parents are fine.  Organic...blah!"  Unfortunately, our parents' generation isn't fine.

Our family is over 5 years into our journey of healthier living - which includes our diet.  God put everything on earth we need to heal our bodies.  Heal is the key word - not "treat signs and symptoms."  Watching cancer rates, heart disease rates, and the rate of diabetes soar and having 5 people in my extended family be diagnosed with cancer (my dad passing away from cancer) has made me pay more attention to disease prevention - and prevention is possible
The Facts:

  • As Americans we spend the most per person on health care and we are the 39th healthiest country in the world.

  • One in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be affected by cancer in their lifetime.

  • As Americans, we pay less for food (as a percentage of income) than any country on earth, than anyone on the history of the earth.  The amount we pay for food today (percentage-wise) is half of what we paid in the 1960's.  The amount we pay for health care today (percentage-wise) has tripled since the 1960's.

There is no coincidence.  We have to start paying attention to our health and our food.  If we do that, we will save ourselves from a lot of unnecessary suffering - and we save our loved ones from the suffering as well.  As Father's Day came and went yesterday I thought of my dad often.  I happened to get on Facebook and saw all the people mourning the premature loss of their dads.  Should we choose to change our health for the better, we will be changing the course of our lives.
The analogy:
Travis (my husband) drive an Acura RL.  It requires premium unleaded gas.  One day, because it was 40 cents cheaper per gallon, he decided to put regular unleaded into the tank.  Although it didn't happen right away, within a few days the car was chugging up hills and not driving smoothly like it normally does.  He considered bringing it to the auto mechanic, since he was perplexed at the situation.  Then he realized his mistake, began using premium gas again and all was well with his car.
Our bodies are like that car.  We deserve premium fuel.  Put in premium fuel and our bodies will run smoothly like a powerful machine.

Small steps to improve your health:
  • Eat 10 servings of fruits and vegetables daily - a spectrum of colors  (Drinking 4 ounces of your MonaVie juice provides 13 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.)
  • Drink Water (Use this calculator to see how much water you should drink daily: http://nutrition.about.com/library/blwatercalculator.htm)
  • Get 7-9 hours of sleep every night
  • Get moderate exercise regularly

Bigger steps to improve your health (well bigger for some than others ;-)):
  • Eliminate sugar (try starting with desserts, then start reading labels - you'll be surprised at how many things have sugar as one of the top 3 ingredients).  Try fruit to satisfy the sugar cravings.
  • Eliminate pop (there are no healthy sodas, don't kid yourself - our bodies can only handle one 12oz can per week!  Try juicing your fruits and vegetables)
  • Consider chiropractic care (most good chiropractors are focused on neurologically fixing a problem without surgery or drugs)

You might consider doing one of those for a time then add another.  As you do, your eyes will be opened to truths about health.  If you are breathing, you have a purpose on earth.  Set yourself up for success to fulfill your goals and purposes.  Get and keep yourself healthy for a lifetime.  Know that your health is a journey.  Take a step in the right direction.  Then keep moving in the right direction.

Like me, many of you are Christians.  God tells us to treat our bodies like a temple; to use our bodies as a sacrifice to the Lord.  If you have said, "It's my only vice", or "it's not that big of a deal" reconsider.  God asks us to follow Him, not our own ways.  It could seriously improve your health and the health of the people around you in indirect ways.  It's nearly impossibly to serve others when we are sick.
As always, if you are looking to improve your health and want a jumpstart, you can always call.  MonaVie has healthy products to offer, assisting you in your journey.  I might be able to point you in the direction of a good chiropractor, naturopath, or a source for good essential oils or other products.

Blessings sent your way!
